Gus set out through the morning mist, past two loons calling to each other and a father and son fishing in one of the lake’s crannies. When his pocket vibrated, he knew he had gone far enough and pulled over into a shallow bay.

Only one message mattered to him, though, the response from the other Gus, the Gus with a mu.

The message was simple: “Nay, stand and unfold yourself.”

Gus did a quick Google search for Peggy Firmin. “Neil Gibson Arrested and Released in Case of Murdered Author” was at the top of his Google search results.
